What Is The Best Way To Start A Golf Swing?
A lot of great golfers start their swing with someting. jack pushed his head back. Player pushe his right leg in. Ernie has a forward press and so Tiger has a slight forward press also. I am a 4 handicap why do they do this if I were to do any of these things how would it help or would it not help at all.

Most who do the forward press do so to start the backswing with a straight left wrist. I do this because it helps prevent me from rolling the wrists prematurely on the backswing.
Most who kick the right leg in do it so they are conscious of having proper weight balance – you can’t sway to the right with the right leg kicked in.
Jack turns his head so he establishes left eye dominance during the swing – not sure why this is better, but it helped him (and Lorena Ochoa). Also it seems like it would help with keeping the turn unrestricted.
Really, they all do it because they feel comfortable with it, and it is part of their routine. Watch the pros – the exact same pre-shot routine every time. Tiger even takes the same amount of time for each shot +/- a second or two.
So, I guess the moral of the story is to do what feels like it helps you and do it the same way every time.
I think you answered your question in your question. Many great players start their swing differently. There is no best way to do it.
I think many players use a queue to start their swing. Those who forward press do it to set themselves in the position that they want to hold at the top. I’m not great by any means, and I’m not as good as you, but I start by letting the club actually lag forward as I take the club away. My queue is soft hands and relaxed grip. When I do that I get in a good position at the top and generate a lot of lag coming down. When I squeeze too hard my swing goes to hell.
Find a queue that helps you, or don’t and just stick with whatever you’re doing. Utimately, all that matters is what position you’re in during the milisecond of impact. There are a bunch of different steps you can take to get to that position, but none of them are the “best.”
As a 4 handicapper you already have a very well developed sense of timing, swing speed and posture. These “starts” are a natural variation of that. If you were recorded in slo-mo you’d have one too, and it would be different from most others.
If you’re a 4, I wouldn’t worry about changing your fundamentals like this – I would spend and extra few hours around the greens each week to shave strokes.
In my opinion, to answer your question, these starts do not help or hurt, but are a natural tendencies. To emulate them is fine, unless you already have a well developed swing, which you do…
WISH I WAS A 4 HANDICAPER AND DIDNT KNOW HOW TO START THE SWING BUT THE SWING STARTS WITH THE GRIP.
it’s just a trigger, I grip the club tight and then relax my hands to start my swing. What ever keeps you in rhythm
A 4 handicapper?! & you have to ask such a question? that is pretty piss poor.
