What Is The Relationship Between The Movement Of The Arms And The Torso In The Golf Swing?

Specifically, it seems that to make a big turn of the torso would require the arms to go way past parallel. Is this true? If not, why?

This answer could take sooooome time to answer and I don’t think I can type that much right now. I will try and answer briefly.
Can you make a “big turn” with your arms at your side? If yes, than you can also make a big turn withouth the club going back too far. The torso should make a ‘compact’ turn not necessarily thinking ‘big’ as that could and will cause a lot of problems in most people that do not have a “tigeresque” physique. Wind the uppper body up, like a rubber band, compact in nature, to unleash a smooth swing. Just as important, is releasing the torso…….through impact….which is lacking in many amateur swings. Hope this helps!
Pretty much. Generally the farther you turn back, the closer to or past parallel you will go.
Anytime I try to make a huge turn, I have to actually slow my self down a bit to avoid rushing my first move down and pull-hooking it dead left.
I try to work on club head speed now. I limit my turn to short of parallel now, but haven’t lost any distance at all. Good luck.
